Common Pitfalls Newbie Streamers Fall Into.
One of the most common mistakes new streamers make is they don’t engage enough with their audience. When a viewer stumbles upon a new channel with fewer viewers, more often than not, it’s because they were actively looking for a new streamer on their explore page. They do so because they want to interact with the channel and are looking for fresh content. So if you are just starting out, make sure you’re actively engaging with anyone who comes in.
That being said, you’ll also want to make sure that the follower-only chat option is disabled. Having a follower-only chat is off-putting to some and will dampen the viewer’s experience. This may sound counter-intuitive, but new viewers won’t be incentivized to chat and interact with you if you’ve made it harder for them to do so.
